Nigerian doctor and popular health influencer, Chinonso Egemba, widely known as Aproko Doctor, has responded to a social media user who claimed that too much sleep leads to poverty.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Aproko Doctor emphasized the importance of adequate rest, urging Nigerians to take their sleep seriously for better health.
A Twitter user, Morris Monye, had earlier expressed frustration over people still being asleep by 7 or 8 a.m. He wrote:
"Hate when I message people by 6am or 7am and they are still sleeping. Too much sleep is a recipe for poverty."
Reacting to this, Aproko Doctor dismissed the notion, stressing that insufficient sleep can have severe health consequences over time.
He responded:
"Abeg sleep o! Little sleep is a recipe for dementia in old age. People are suffering because of little sleep."
His reply sparked conversations on the importance of maintaining a healthy sleep schedule, highlighting the long-term risks associated with sleep deprivation.
